Biography

Canadian artist Deborah Danelley is best known more recently, for her experimentation with repurposing common, found objects and materials like old books, used tea bags, scrap metal and wood, and transforming them into intriguing unconventional collage works.

Fascinated by the philosophical concept and aesthetic qualities of “wabi sabi”, Deborah has adopted a simple yet mindful approach to art-making  and life. The physicality of the materials she uses, honours the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete, yet her resulting abstractions are timeless as well as being skilfully and seamlessly constructed.

The recipient of a Gold Medal upon graduating in 1997 from the School of Art, University of Manitoba, Deborah, currently resides in Winnipeg where she continues her full time artistic practice.
